The KS3 curriculum is designed to engage our younger students and to engender in them a love of learning.

Grow Up at Your Own Pace

Our recently refurbished Nursery is now located within the heart of the Junior School, allowing our Pre-Schoolers to develop a closer relationship with the Reception class teacher and facilities.  Our bright, airy and well-equipped rooms create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with access to the Nursery and Reception garden, and to the larger enclosed garden on campus, the brand-new Junior Playground, and the extended grounds of Roedean Moira House.

Our nursery children learn through play, and benefit from a full range of experienced staff and facilities, including:

  • Specialist language teaching
  • A fully equipped sports hall and Junior PE hall
  • Extensive grounds, including gardens and a brand-new Junior Playground
  • On-site catering at the school ensuring that the children have access to nutritious, wholesome and freshly cooked food
  • Coming soon: Parent-toddler swimming sessions in our on-site heated pool, which can be booked on a weekly basis.

Activities included each week

Our Pre-Schoolers enjoy speaking and interacting in French once a week with a primary-trained teacher, learning vocabulary through play and role-play.

One of our peripatetic Music teachers visits once a week to introduce instruments, different sounds, singing and controlling the voice.

Physical Education

Every week the nursery children are taught in small groups activities such as jumping activities, stop-and-go games, and apparatus-based physical activities seek to develop motor skills.

What they say…

From the tiny four year old girl bubbling over about her day, to the unassuming sixth formers, the girls we met here seemed very natural, and answered questions with frank spontaneity.
